“The only olive oils that have been scientifically proven to increase biodiversity”
What does it certify?
Extra Virgin Olive Oils (AOVEs in Spanish) produced in a way that has been measured and certified to increase biodiversity.
And why olive groves?
Olive groves are the most important crop for nature conservation in Europe. Thanks to the Olivares Vivos LIFE Project, we know that olive groves still have high levels of biodiversity and a great potential to recover it.
Why are they unique?
It certifies not only good intentions and good practices, but also a real increase in the number of fauna and flora species in the olive groves producing these Extra Virgin Olive Oils.
The first olive oils in the world and the first agri-food product in Europe with a certified contribution to biodiversity conservation
Who is behind the certification?
At present, Olivares Vivos is funded by the LIFE Programme. The objective is to design an olive farming model that recovers biodiversity, turning it into profitability for farmers and a guarantee of a healthy planet for consumers.
